1.) Build the 3D printed Visors -

Feel free to use your own designs or (under your own responsibility) you can use the Prusa 3D printer file and Prusa 3D printed visors instructions from the Prusa website.

If you have any questions or issues ask on the Prusa forum or the UK 3D printing group.

2.) Disinfect the masks

Disinfect the masks at your own risk. Here are instructions provided by Prusa.

3.) Once built, fill in our form so we can match you

Fill in this form with how many visors you have and we can match you with a verified NHS worker to send it to.

4.) Send it to the NHS worker

We send you the address of the NHS worker and instructions to send them your 3D printed visors! We recommend Parcel Hero for postal collection which can help pick up from your home and deliver it for cheap.

We are a project that connects people with PPE to NHS healthcare workers in need

NHS healthcare workers fill in this form

Healthcare workers fill in this receiving form and send us a verification email with their @nhs.net email and the subject line "VERIFICATION" to [EMAIL].

The postal service pick up the PPE and deliver

The donor selects a postal service to send the PPE. We recommend Parcel Hero that can arrange a contactless pickup.

What masks we do/don't accept

Note: Mask Share UK is not responsible for the quality, delivery or contamination of any of the masks or PPE (Read our Terms and Conditions for more). Please double check as a donor on the box what type of masks and PPE you have.

✅ N95, P95, R95 or KN95 masks

Please check on the box and packaging that you actually have N95, P95, R95 or KN95 masks. These are respirator masks typically characterised by having a small respirator box within them.

✅ FFP3 Respirator masks

Please check on the box and packaging that you actually have FFP3 masks. These are respirator masks typically characterised by having a small respirator box within them.

✅ Surgical Masks

Please check on the box and packaging that you actually have surgical masks.

✅ Dust Masks

Please check on the box and packaging that you actually have dust masks. These may look similar to N95 masks, but do not contain a respiratory filter.

❌ Homemade masks

We currently do not accept homemade masks, but are looking to expand to this. We do accept 3D printed visors and goggles though!

Anushka is a 4th year medical student at the University of Edinburgh. Her experiences range from co-directing a public engagement event on traumatic brain injury to attending international summer schools on the topic of infectious diseases. What is Mask Share UK?

Mask Share UK is a peer-to-peer platform to help people with spare PPE send them directly to healthcare workers on the front lines who need them now. Many hospitals are limiting the number of PPE doctors and nurses can use due to limited quantities on hand and saving up for the anticipated peak, and many are forced to go without due to lack of supply. For example, Dr Samantha Batt-Rawden, the president of the Doctors’ Association UK (DAUK) states “Lack of personal protective equipment continues to be a critical issue. It is heartbreaking to hear that some staff have been told to simply ‘hold their breath’ due to lack of PPE. We find this concerning and want to do our best to contribute to the NHS during this difficult period."

How does it work?

People in the United Kingdom have PPR in their closets, garages, basements, and workshops, and can get linked up with a healthcare worker near them who needs PPE now. If you are a healthcare worker, fill out this form so we know who you are and where we need to send your PPE. If you have PPE, fill out this form, and we’ll email you with a healthcare worker match so you can ship your PPE directly to them. We ask our healthcare workers to send us a verification email on their @nhs.net email. This PPE is not for purchase or for sale. Those who are matched with a healthcare worker are expected to cover the cost of shipping & handling.

How can I donate PPE?

If you have any of the unused PPE we accept you can donate them by filling in this form.Once this is done we will message you with the next steps for the postal service to pick up your PPE in a contactless way and deliver them to a healthcare worker.

Do we accept any masks?

No. For now we only accept N95, P95, R95, KN95, FFP3 surgical masks and dust masks. If you are unsure about which mask you have, click here to learn more.

Can I donate used masks or PPE?

Only unused masks and PPE can be donated.

Are you responsible for the delivery, quality or contamination of masks, PPE or equipment?

No. We are not responsible for the quality, delivery or contamination of the PPE or equipment. As we are not manufacturing the PPE we are not responsible for the quality of the PPE you receive. Mask Share UK is a platform connecting people who have PPE with those who need it.
